More than 500 Healthcare Specialists to Convene in Arizona to Share Expertise

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Accuray Incorporated (Nasdaq: ARAY), a global leader in the field of radiosurgery, announced today that more than 500 medical, clinical and technical specialists have registered for the 7th Annual CyberKnife Users' Meeting, January 23-27, 2008 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Over the past seven years, Accuray has seen consistent growth in the number of users attending the meeting, beginning with just 27 users at the first meeting in 2001. The 7th Annual Meeting demonstrated not only record registration, but also a record number of presentation and poster abstracts submitted for consideration.

"We're thrilled with the tremendous amount of interest we've received around this year's Users' Meeting from presenters and attendees alike," said Eric P. Lindquist, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Accuray Incorporated. "Taking into account clinicians' busy schedules, we feel the robust attendance anticipated at this year's Users' Meeting shows the clinical value of the event and the growing role CyberKnife radiosurgery is playing in cancer care."

Unlike many other technologies' Users' meetings, the CyberKnife Users' Meeting is uniquely focused on delivering concentrated clinical material presented by CyberKnife users in various fields. For this reason a maximum of 26 continuing medical education (CME) credits(TM), accredited through Georgetown University Hospital, will be offered to participating physicians.

This year's meeting will feature more than 70 clinical and technical presentations selected by a scientific panel of users, as well as more than 70 scientific posters, focusing on intracranial and extracranial experience and treatment outcomes from CyberKnife users worldwide. In addition, specialized sessions will be offered focusing on coding and reimbursement, business development and marketing, patient management and efficiencies, and physics, along with tumor review board interactive panel discussions.

The CyberKnife Users' Meeting is organized by the CyberKnife Society, an organization that brings together users from around the world to foster the scholarly exchange of information pertaining to CyberKnife radiosurgery. Attendees include leading surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, physicists, administrators and nurses from around the world. Attendance at the CyberKnife Users' Meeting is typically self-funded for both attendees and presenters alike.

About the CyberKnife(R) Robotic Radiosurgery System

The CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System is the world's only robotic radiosurgery system designed to treat tumors anywhere in the body non-invasively. Using continual image guidance technology and computer controlled robotic mobility, the CyberKnife System automatically tracks, detects and corrects for tumor and patient movement in real-time throughout the treatment. This enables the CyberKnife System to deliver high-dose radiation with pinpoint precision, which minimizes damage to surrounding healthy tissue and eliminates the need for invasive head or body stabilization frames.
